Make Money Selling Ebooks
Article by: Nikisha Thompson
The popularity of ebooks is a sign of the times - as technology changes, people want to be able to access information quickly. The Internet allows you to write and publish your own books without having to be accepted by a publisher or enduring high printing costs. The best part is, you can write and publish your book all in a matter of weeks.
The most popular ebooks are those that teach people how to do something. Nonfiction information sells well on the Internet because it usually provides solutions to specific problems that cannot be solved with traditional print text. Ebooks also do not have to be as long as traditional print books. I have seen ebooks range anywhere from 20 to 150 pages, but most are not much longer than that. Ebooks are usually to-the-point and have no need for the fluff most text contains.
The amount you charge for your ebook is entirely up to you and your market. Ebooks written in high-demand niches can be sold for hundreds of dollars. Other books are sold for under $10 or given away for free (I'll elaboarate more on those later.) There is tremendous profit potential in selling ebooks, you just have to do a bit of preparation before you begin.
Decide on your niche. What field do you consider yourself an "expert" in? You literally have thousands of topics to choose from. Do a search on the web to check out your competition before you begin. You want to make sure that the field you choose has a market, but is not flooded with competition. Once you have decided on a topic, create an outline to help guide your writing. Committ to writing a certain number of pages each day to help yourself stay on track.
When you have finished writing and proofreading, you will need to format your writing as a pdf document (the most commonly used format). You can create a webpage to sell your ebook or use an online publisher such as Lulu.com. Lulu will publish your book for free in exchange for a percentage of sales. The best thing about this type of business is that your income is passive and recurring. Once your book is written and available for sale, you can make money in your sleep.
If you would like to sell ebooks but do not want to write one, there are many ebook authors that will allow you to sell their books and recieve a percentage of sales. You may also purchase PLR (Private Label Rights) material at a low cost and treat the materials as if they are your own. This means you can modify them and sell them as you please and keep 100% of the profits. I am selling a PLR package of over 15,000 articles in over 75 niches that you can use to create your own ebooks for under $10. Choose the niche of your interest and modify the articles as you please. You can view the package on my Ebooks page.
When you price your ebook, consider who you are selling to and price your materials to fit the audience and demand. You can sell an ebook for a low price and still make thousands from it by using a simple method. This method is outline in the $7 Secrets Ebook found on my ebook page. This information is worth more than the $7 it will cost you to download! You can use the method described in the book, or any of the methods described above. Whichever route you choose, don't hesitate. Ebooks are a perfect way to build a substantial, passive income.
