About Us
History
The ALEC Project, LLC was founded in 2008 to fill in the gaps that currently exist in educational and community resources. The mission of the ALEC Project is to help individuals begin a journey of self-discovery to ultimately determine their passion and purpose in life.
What does the acronym ALEC represent? ALEC stands for Arts, Leadership, Education, and Culture, the elements that serve as the foundation for exploration and discovery.
Arts: represents creativity and inspiration; the freedom to experience the world from new perspectives. It is through art that individuals learn of their capabilities as well as a deeper understanding of their likes and dislikes. Art also provides an outlet for expression; a welcome respite from the rigid standards of the world.
Leadership: represents a capacity for facilitating change. The ability to transform requires the ability to envision, inform, motivate and restructure. Leadership involves the nurturing and development of those who will become active participants in the future reshaping of society.
Education: is the backbone of all elements, as wisdom and experience are interrelated. Knowledge is the catalyst for self-discovery, transformation, expressions, and change.
Culture: Know who you are and appreciate all others. Without this element, growth cannot exist. To truly begin a journey of self-discovery you must be aware of your history. An understanding of personal and global cultures supports an understanding of people; who they are and what they need.
By providing a combination of learning opportunities, research tools and educational materials that embrace the four elements, The ALEC Project encourages the development of academic, enrichment, professional, and personal skills.
